Refractions: Friends & family series

Friends & Family applies the refractions technique to intimate subject matter, loved ones and sentimental objects. Deeply influenced by my OCD, each subject shapes every decision: color, vibrancy, clarity, and distortion. There is something profound about painting someone you love through a lens of distortion. It mirrors how OCD itself works, fixating on something precious, filtering it through discomfort, and finding a way to let it exist, imperfectly, anyway.
